Etude House Drawing Eyebrow AD

Why is there no 'review' in the post title? Because I planned to review it but before I could, it broke. Again.

Before I continue with my review, I would like to say HI HELLO HI HI how did your Valentine's Day go? I hope you all had a good time! I spent mine at my friend's place, we wanted to bake chocolate cheesecake but we were running out of milk. Eventually, we just looked for cute gift box printables and ta-dah!

Looks very nice, right? I was kind of disappointed that we couldn't make the chocolate cheesecake (I really wanted some for myself too! Well, it's cheesecake), but that's fine!

Now, about the product on the title!

The first time I purchased it, it broke because of my own fault, I twisted it the wrong way, so I made another purchase. And this time, I didn't even do anything but when I wanted to use it it just wouldn't budge as if I twisted it wrong again. But noooo, I haven't even done anything, I just removed the cap and twisted it--correctly (I have learned my lesson). No one borrowed my makeup so did it just--break on his own?

That's it, Etude House, I'm never going to buy any of your product again. Sure, Etude House's products are cute, adorable, affordable and all but I have always thought that the quality is so-so.

NOW I DON'T HAVE EYEBROWS.

I mean they are visible but not thick enough.

It's broken and I can't do swatch or anything but I'm going to do a short review anyway.

Etude House Drawing Eyebrow AD comes in six shades; #1 Dark Brown, #2 Grey Brown, 3# Brown, #4 Dark Grey, 5# Grey, and #6 Black. Mine is #5 Gray, because my hair color is black. Pick one shade lighter than your hair color for your eyebrows so it will not appear too harsh on you.

The pencil is replaceable, when you are running out of it you can buy a box of the refill. I can't find any seller that sells the refill box in my area though. The color itself is sheer and buildable, which is good because I don't want to overdo it. I just need my eyebrows to appear thick enough but not really obvious that I draw my eyebrows.

I hate sharpening and this one is an automatic pencil with triangle shape, also comes with a spoolie brush to comb the hair and soften your strokes. The spoolie is a huge help, I can just draw it messily and it will still turn out nice after being combed with the spoolie (I comb my eyebrows before and after), perfect for *cough* us students who often wake up late and do a little bit of makeup in a rush.

Unfortunately, it doesn't last long. Just few hours and it will disappear. This made me consider whether I should switch for other eyebrow pencil (it didn't wait long though, it broke on me).

Price :
Rp 36.000,- (around $3)

Where to buy :
I bought mine from Chic Princessa.

What I dislike :
  • Doesn't last long.
  • Breaks easily.
 What I like :
  • Cheap.
  • Automatic triangle-shaped pencil.
  • Comes with a useful spoolie.
Repurchase? No.

I'm thinking of getting NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder, tell me if you have any (inexpensive) brow kit or bow pencil recommendation!

Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer SPF 30/PA++ Review

We know that applying toner and moisturizer before going with your BB cream or foundation is very essential. When I first started doing make-up, I didn't own any moisturizer at the moment, so I grabbed this right after Etude House released their Dear Girls line which used only organic ingredients and comes in 5-Free System; paraben, talc, mineral oil, artificial colors, animal ingredients.

Etude House's products always have pretty packaging! Look at those flower and ribbon decorations!

Pump for your hygiene's sake. Contains 50g of the product.

'Ingridients'? What.

So what do they say about this product? (from en.koredepart.com)
Adheres to skin to brighten skin tone without stickiness.
Blocks UV rays to create healthy skin.
5-vitamin extract and 7-organic extract offer full of nutrition to skin.
5 Free System (Paraben, talc, mineral oil, artificial colors, animal ingredients)

It's always good to have some sun protection in your make-up, I was happy finding out this moisturizer has SPF 30 in their formula. And that 5-Free System is just great!

Now, let's see how it works.

Hada Labo's moisturizer comes in transparent white liquid while Etude House's has thick white liquid with refreshing floral scent that stays on skin for minutes.

Blended out.

With flash.

While Hada Labo Ultimate Moisturizing Milk gives clear, watery finish, Etude House Dear Girls Be Clear Moisturizer leaves you with a matte white cast. Note that it doesn't last long, but you need to give some time for it to give you the brightening result you want before you start going with your BB cream or foundation. There was one day where I applied it with BB cream and powder in a rush, the white cast wouldn't tone down even if I waited for minutes. It was horrifying, my face was way far brighter than my neck. I ended up restarting my whole make-up.

I have to tell you that you need to be very careful with this moisturizer, apply it thinly with your fingers! With Hada Labo, I don't need to worry about applying too much moisturizer, let it dry for a while and BB cream time! With this one moisturizer, one full pump is too much. When it's too much, it leaves you a white cast that lasts long and if you go out, being exposed to the sun, IT MELTS.

IT.

MELTS.

No kidding, when I visited my boyfriend he asked, 'what is that white thing on your forehead?' FREAKING EMBARRASSING GRAAAAHHHH

*cough*

Well, if you apply it evenly, thinly, and carefully, you will get the result you want. I really like how it brightens my dull skin without sticky feeling. And it has SPF 30 so no need to apply more sunscreen! I don't get breakouts from this moisturizer too. But having to be careful upon application is too much of inconvenience for me, so I switched to my Hada Labo.

Price?
Rp 76.000,-/around $6.7

Where to buy?
eBay. I purchased mine from Chic Princessa.

What I dislike :
  • One full pump is too much? WHYYY. The pump should have been designed as its own measurer that gives you the perfect amount! Or do I expect too much?
  • White cast that stays forever when applied too much.
  • It melts (again, when applied too much) under the sun.
  • Wtf why so much work to get the result I want.

    What I like :
    • Refreshing floral fragrance.
    • Cute packaging.
    • Hygienic pump.
    • SPF 30/PA++ for your sun protection.
    • Brightens the skin tone--when applied correctly.

      Repurchase? No.

Thanks for reading, have a good day!

Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer (New Packaging) in Natural Beige Review

Dark circles, acne, blemishes, uneven skin color. There's this first aid magic called concealer to cover them! When my friend first introduced me to a concealer, I was very surprised by the result and decided to get one. It's my first concealer!

I have mine in renewed packaging.

The old packaging. Here's the new one.

Yep, it's cuter and they changed the shape of the wand applicator. Both come in two shades, Light Beige and Natural Beige. I have mentioned in the title that I got mine in Natural Beige, I'll just tell you once more in case you're that one super lazy reader.

The old one has the applicator like lip tint wands, this one has it more rounded, makes it easier for you to apply the product on your face in few little dots. But what's more important is the coverage power, so let's see how it works!

I drew a bear with Etude House's LUCIDarling Fantastic Brush Eyeliner which I won't review because you won't be able to find it anywhere, it had been discontinued.

I might have put them a bit too much. Good creamy texture. Creamier than before it's renewed, said a friend who has hers in old packaging and tried mine.

After blended. I normally use my ring finger to pat and blend out concealers because it's the most delicate finger (after your pinky, obviously). When you're covering your dark circles area with your finger, use your ring finger. Do note that the skin around your eyes are the thinnest!

Anyway, see how it covers the bear BUT reveals some wrinkles?

I would like to say that it has great coverage, it covers my dark circles and blemishes well, the color also suits my skin tone.

But here's what you need to know.

The other day, I applied some on, walked few minutes to nearby photo printing center to get ID photos for my student visa, went to check it on a mirror and the blemishes were back. I reapplied it, only to be surprised at how it made my pores look bigger and ugly. There was also this day where I was satisfied with how it covered my skin's imperfection, went to nearby mall and it wasn't there anymore. My skin wasn't even oily and I was in air-conditioned room. It can't last more than 25-30 minutes!

I was going to end this post but let me show you some photos of how it works on brighter skin tone.

      Friend's bare hand.

She has no acne on her face (she said she had but it wasn't even showing, whatever I'm jealous) so we tried covering the veins instead.

Nice but take closer look and notice how it appears a bit yellowish on her skin. Not very noticeable but you might be bothered with it if you want perfect result.

      Now, to end the post.

      Where to get :
Most online shops have one. Bought mine from Chic Princessa.

      Pros :
      1) Good coverage.
      2) Suitable color for most skin tone.
      3) Cheap.
      4) Great applicator.
      5) Practical packaging, good to travel with.
      6) Nice creamy texture.

      Cons :
      1) Will you last for at least more than an hour?!
      2) Tube and wand packaging, makes it not possible to use up all the product. You can't reach the remaining product at the very bottom of the tube.
      3) Application can't be layered, your pores would look bigger instead of getting better coverage.

      Repurchase? No.

Etude House I Can Fly Cherry Lip Gel Patch Review

Yes, a mask for our lips! When I stumbled upon this product, I was thinking if it would be a good lip care product for my dry lips. My lips are usually very dry, lip balm is always a must. Not to mention the uneven color, my upper lip is darker. So I decided to grab a pack of this 'lip mask'!

Simple, cute packaging. I like the shape of this one mask better than The Face Shop's Bebe Lip Mask, because this will cover your lips evenly--or a bit too much, maybe. It might be designed for all lip types, but please, Hulk won't use a lip mask.

The back side. It has a cute picture of how you would look like with the patch on. A delusion, move on.

Apparently they have a special edition version.

What makes it different from the normal one? It has an owl! With its own story!

      Story of Eagle Owl:
Hi! I'm Eagle Owl, the bright night bird! I am in danger of extinction, because hunting has become so difficult in bright city lights. Please help me to fly freely again!

Ok I fail to comprehend the main purpose of the special edition one. You may tell me if you know.

Anyway, here is what they claim about the product :
Cherry flavor added with rich moisture
Evens out the redness in lips creating a smooth and neutral surface
Smooth and cooling gel type lip patch

      Directions for Use :
      1. After cleansing, even out the skin texture, take the patch out and place it on the lip
      2. Remove the patch in 10-15 minutes and pat gently to let the remaining essence absorb
      * When taking the patch out, avoid taking it out from the edges

Cherry Lip Gel Patch is a lip shaped hydro gel patch formulated with vitalizing Cherry Extract.  It is designed to hydrate, repair and soothe, for soft, supple and smooth lips.

      Now, I want kissable lips!

It's a fluffy, juicy jelly with sweet cherry scent. Do not eat or try to taste it. I know how tempting it is, but please. It tastes bitter, anyway.

Be careful when taking out the patch, your nails could rip it. I turned it around and pushed it out from the plastic. Treat it gently like a delicate jelly you're going to eat.

I used it while lying on bed, enjoying the pleasant scent. There was not any cooling effect like what the product have mentioned, though. For hygiene's sake, do not use it more than once, throw it away after you've had enough smelling the scent.

      Verdict!
It made my lips very soft and it even left a faint scent of cherry, but after few minutes and eat or drink, the effect will be gone, your kissable lips are not there anymore muahahaha leaving you with your usual ugly lips!! Bye bye few minutes of lips of your dream! I don't recommend this for your daily lipcare product but keep one if you want for--'emergency lip treatment'. It's not expensive but so-so. Like face mask sheets, they are cheap but will cost much when you go for daily use.

      Where to get :
Most online beauty shops have it. I got mine from Chic Princessa.

      Pros :
      • Smells super nice.
      • Brings out the redness of your lips--a bit.
      • Makes your lips very smooth.

      Cons :
      • Effect doesn't last long.
      • Wtf dramatic size.

      Repurchase? No.
